I’m gearing up to start an exciting journey toward becoming a full-stack data scientist, officially will be kicking off on 28 October 2024. While starting on a Monday might seem cliché, it helps me stay organized and track my progress more easily. Over the next 60 weeks, I’ll be immersing myself in data science, building the skills and expertise needed to make a successful career switch.
Currently, I am working as a Marketing Communication Specialist, but I’m ready to transition into this new field while still balancing my current role. It’s a big step, but I’m confident that with dedication and careful time management, I’ll reach my goal of becoming a full-stack data scientist.
As an aspiring data scientist balancing a full-time role, finding a learning platform that aligns with my busy schedule has been crucial. Flexibility is non-negotiable, which is why, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to begin my journey with Coursera.
Coursera offers a broad range of topics relevant to the data science field, from foundational concepts to more specialized techniques. Whether it's Python, machine learning, or data visualization, the platform provides courses that cover it all. What’s even better is that these courses are created by top universities and industry experts. While they may not be accredited, the fact that institutions like Google and IBM are behind the content gives me confidence in its quality.
Affordability is another big win. Traditional education can be costly, but Coursera offers an affordable way to access high-quality material. This makes it easier for me to pursue my passion for data science without breaking the bank.
In short, Coursera ticks all the boxes for me: flexible, diverse topics, and affordable. It’s the perfect solution for someone juggling a full-time job while diving into the world of data science. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. Stay tuned for updates on my progress!
